SPIE ICS is one of the leading service providers for ICT services and solutions in Switzerland. As a major provider of modern solutions in the areas of communication and collaboration, connectivity, security and data center and cloud, SPIE ICS is constantly implementing innovative ICT services. The Managed Services platform as the central hub for important services such as monitoring, remote access and logging has been expanded with modern functions and migrated to the cloud where possible and appropriate. Digitalization was driven forward and process efficiency increased.

The office project GENOVA FSVO (Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office) is a project within the programme GENOVA FDHA, which in turn was part of the programme GENOVA Confederation. The aim of the project was to replace the old GEVER system Fabasoft with the new federal standard Acta Nova. A very important piece of the puzzle was the migration of the existing data into the new system. The entire FDHA, as well as the FSVO in particular, had been working with the old GEVER system for more than 15 years and thus produced a large amount of data. This amount of data was successfully transferred to the new GEVER system Acta Nova during the introductory weekend.

The Cloud Enabling OA (CEBA) project is a project of the Federal Chancellery (FCh). The project is about creating all prerequisites (technical, legal, organizational, etc.) to be able to use public cloud or hybrid cloud solutions for bureau automation in the federal administration. Within the scope of this project, various solution variants were examined and corresponding analyses were prepared. In the course of the concept phase, the service recipients were to have the opportunity to gain experience and build up know-how on test environments.

The existing technical infrastructure of the State Secretariat for Migration SEM had reached the end of its lifecycle. The approximately 2,300 notebooks and desktops had to be replaced with a modern and up-to-date infrastructure at the SEM's approximately 20 locations throughout Switzerland (incl. Ticino and French-speaking Switzerland). The decentralised distribution, the coordination with the service provider BIT as well as the emerging Covid 19 pandemic during the project were important and challenging factors in the successfully implemented project.

The GS FDF has the mandate to steer the further development of the IT architecture of the administrative units within a uniform department-wide framework, so that economically efficient management is also possible in the future. Accordingly, the FDF transaction portal is a central component for the consistent digitization of government services. This makes interaction with the administration simpler and more efficient.

A very exciting unbundling project is taking place at RUAG, which is responsible for turning one company into two in the future. This unbundling is the result of a decision by the Federal Council. The aim of the project is to have a "RUAG Switzerland" that will once again focus on its core tasks within Switzerland and a "RUAG International" that will take over all the remaining business areas.

The Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) wants to gradually exploit the potential offered by the digitization of processes. To this end, a joint E-Gov platform is being established within DETEC. The project is being designed, implemented and gradually introduced across all offices under the leadership of the General Secretariat (GS) and together with the FOEN and OFCOM. The E-Gov solution is designed to support business case processing with collaborative and end-to-end end-2-end processes. Users are guided through a workflow-based case and activity management. The target solution includes not only the E-Gov portal, but also the back-office processes in the offices to be implemented with the GEVER federal standard.

Diverse specialists were sought to support the further development as well as the operation of the Swisscom Cloud in various areas.

The Federal Council has decided that the Command Support Base (FUB) of the Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) should once again focus on its core tasks. For this reason, the basic systems of the FUB are being unbundled as part of the federal unbundling project. In a first phase, office automation will be transferred from the FUB to the FOITT. In order to be able to implement the strategy, the creation of a special deployment client will be pushed forward in a second step. This will then cover the spectrum of applications relevant to the deployment.

The former Federal IT Steering Unit introduced MDM throughout the Federal Administration for the first time with the Mobile Device Management (MDM) program. MDM enables secure use of business data and applications on federal mobile devices. As part of the program, an inventory of smart devices used in the federal administration was realized and a secure environment (sandbox) for federal data held on these devices was made available to all employees who have a business need. More complex additional functionalities and accesses, such as to the intranet, were also provided. With the introduction of MDM, specifications and requirements from the ICT Strategy of the Federal Government 2012 - 2015, the sub-strategy for mobile working, and the HR strategy were implemented.

The Federal Council decided to replace the fixed-line telephone systems in the federal administration with the "Unified Communication & Collaboration UCC" program. With the introduction of UCC, a modern, future-oriented communications solution was introduced. Around 120 migration projects were carried out in the program between 2014 and 2017. This included the switch of the entire fixed network telephony of the federal government to the internal IP network and the associated change of all fixed network numbers. The solution used was Microsoft's "Skype for Business" product, which was fully integrated into the federal administration's existing infrastructure.
